Switch by Megan Hart

Not at all what I expected it to be, but I just can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Considering the book I think it's an appropriate response to the story. Megan Hart never gives me exactly what I'm expecting, but for some reason that just keeps me going back to the book store for another taste.

Synopsis:

The anonymous note wasn't for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in the habit of reading other people's mail, but it was just a piece of paper with a few lines scrawled on it, clearly meant for the apartment upstairs. It looked so innocent, but decidedly-deliciously-it was not.

Before replacing the note-and the ones that followed-in its rightful slot, I devoured its contents: suggestions, instructions, commands. Each was more daring, more intricate and more arousing than the last...and I followed them all to the letter.

Before the notes, if a man had told me what to do, I'd have told him where to go. But submission is an art, and there's something oddly freeing about doing someone's bidding...especially when it feels so very, very good. But I find that the more I surrender, the more powerful I feel-so it's time to switch up roles.

We play by my rules now.

Her Reaper's Arms (Westernwind #5)

This was book 5 in the Westernwind series. I love the series and this book, but it seemed incredibly out of place. All the events happen before book 1 of the series, Wyndriver Sinner. I wish someone would've told me to read this one first and Wyndriver Sinner second because it just makes way more sense chronologically and in the order information about the characters is given. Even so, I enjoyed the book.

For one of his kind, women were trouble and that was trouble he had no intention of taking upon himself. A novel more about despair and hopeless depression than about romance.  Utterly heartbreaking,  though I won't give away the ending.
