Alien Embrace is book one of the Clans of Kalquor series by Tracy St. John. It was first released in September of 2010 and then re-released July 2013. I read the earlier release this time last year, and I finally found myself in a place where I wanted to see what came with the re-release.

The new and improved version has about 100 more pages give or take and everything in general is shiney and polished. The scenes are filled out and everything holds more depth while telling the same story. One thing that holds the Kalquor books high on my favorites list is that I find the religious-political-social symbology of our world both fascinating and frightening. The other thing is that it is so hot that cold showers are required to get through to the end. I'm glad I took the time to reread this new version of my old favorite.

The synopsis holds a content warning that should be emphasized strongly. If you are at all smut sensitive or are bothered by forced seduction, M/M interaction, or lead characters relating past sexual abuse, including rape, THIS IS NOT THE SERIES FOR YOU!

Synopsis:
Amelia Ryan fled Earth’s fanatically religious government to live quietly among the aliens of Plasius. Her life of peace shatters when a three-man clan from the planet Kalquor kidnaps her and holds her prisoner.
With their people poised on the verge of extinction, the Kalquorians are determined to have Amelia for their mate. Amelia is equally determined to escape. But when her body thrills to the ruthless domination of her captors, she finds herself surrendering to desires she never imagined possible.
RATING: Carnal/Erotica—mild BDSM. Captive situation/forced seduction. Multiple sexual partners. Retrospective MOM and rape of the heroine--not by the hero
